Well do I ever have lots to tell you all... ;) Oh yes there is so much going on around here right now, including everyone being home sick and ever so willing to let my snuggle with them in bed! :) As you might have gathered this is the best possible news for a kitty like me... ;)
The other news is as long as everyone is over this 'stinkin cold' fast enough, little Setra will make her début as an adult at the Supreme on Saturday! However My Mummy still has to make up some show curtains for her cage and do a few other bits, apparently this will happen when her head stops 'feeling like it's about to 'splode big time' - I guess this is sensible as curtains with 'sploded Mummy head all over then would look mega yucky!
The next big news is that Grandpur is coming to stay with us for lots of months, all the way from Canada where my lovely Marie lives. In fact her Mom has met my Grandpur so I will be sure to give him lots of sniffing so I can be sure to pick up a hint of 'My Lovely' on him! :) The day after he arrives D'Boy has a big birthday - I guess this makes him old enough to enter the next show class or something... Anyway My Mummy, Daddy and Grandpur are taking him out for a very posh dinner that might - I am therefore living in hope of a duck filled kitty bag! ;)
Lastly there's to be a bit of a celebration on Dec 5th, when My Mummy marries My Daddy - which is not at all fair as I wanted to marry My Mummy! However, if she does have to marry anyone other than me, I guess My Daddy is ok... He does at least make room for me to snuggle up to My Mummy in bed every night! :) Just as long as he doesn't forget his place in household and try and assert any form of male dominance over me or Tigmut'hep things will be just fine... ;)
So as you can see we're very busy here for now, so do please excuse us all... For now I had better get back to snoopervising My Mummy making up bobbing lace flowers for her bouquet! :)

Wednesday Whining...
Well even if we did get yummy treats last Wednesday on My Mummy's Birthday, this one saw us starved for 90 squillion hours and then dragged off to the vets for a dental... How come us boys had to suffer and those lucky girls gotted to stay at home?! It's not fair Mummy, they'ze got stinky breath too, I knows 'cause I've occasionally kissed them both... However it's me and Tigmut'hep that's been manhandled and traumatized!
I'll have you know that Hubert (the vet) stole one of my teeths and 3 of Tigs teeth too, so iffen I see him wearing one of those necklaces with teeth on it, I'z going to have mine back thank you very much! Oh and what's this about having to take meds for 10 days now? Oh well at least I only have to take meds once a day, where as Tigmut'hep has to suffer one in the morning and one at night for 10 days... At least I have something to feel smug about! ;) Well that and I only hadded to have 1 tooth out and had almost no yucky stuff that needed scraping off... :)

Why we've been away Wednesday...
There are many reasons why I have not really blogged for months now, much has been to do with the fact that I have needed some pretty intense love and care from My Mummy in order to struggle back to a reasonable level of health. Even though I'm on meds still, I gather that I should be much better in just another week or two. I've gained some of the weight I lost which triggered this health scare off and am getting lots and lots of 'Mummy Love' and snuggles!
However during this scary time my Grammy who had been battling cancer got really sick, it came as such a huge shock to My Mummy as she had been doing really well and the primary cancer had started to shrink quite a bit and some of the secondaries had almost disappeared! Sadly it was a very short lived up swing in her health, followed by a serious and sudden down turn that left her fighting for her life at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary. So My Mummy gotted a brand new passsport and a booked a flight within 36 hrs of hearing this news, but sadly Grammy passed away at 8:16pm on Sept 21st, whereas My Mummy arrived in Calgary at 3:25pm on Sept 22nd. It seems to My Mummy that Grammy wanted her to remember only the good times when she had been fit and healthy, letting go of her fight just 2 hrs after she heard that My Mummy was coming over. Poor Grandpur as distraught at loosing Grammy as they had been together over 60 yrs and married for nearly a full 59.5 yrs when she passed...
On a lighter note while in Calgary, My Mummy had an afternoon with My Marie's Mom and Evie their Blurpy. My Mummy helped Marie's Mom introduce Evie to the apparent joys of Apple Sauce and then Evie gave my Grandpur hugs and a big smile which made him laugh and smile for the first time in days. So it seems that My Maire's family have really helped Grandpur and bought him a little joy when he had been so sad for days and days. That certainly shows the power of the Blogsphere Cats! :)
Other than that My Mummy has been good and done lots more studying and got another A+, she now only has the Module she's working on and one more to do to end the course! She's also helped us review a few more cat products for 'Your Cat' magazine, though the Litter Kwitter was a bit of a disaster... ;)

Thinking Thursday...
Ramses here, just popping in to let you know that I'm still on the meds, but doing ok and getting lots of love from My Mummy as usual... :)
However our lovely kitty sitter Unca' Pete's kitty Jordan is a desperately sick girl and is currently having a biopsy to see if what the Vets suspect is correct as she has suddenly developed a lump in her abdomen and is off her food and being sick... All here at Lovelynx are purring for her as you can imagine and Unca' Pete too as he is so worried for her and is suspecting the worst! :( Since Auntie Gina has cracked her ankle bone and can't walk far, she can't come see Unca' Pete this weekend, so My Mummy is going her level best to fill in for her and give Unca' Pete a shoulder to cry on as needed. It makes me so cross that some people don't understand how real kitty lovers bond with their kitties and suffer real worry, sadness and profound grief when they are sick or worse as in Jordan's case... At least My Mummy is not one of those people - well she wouldn't be My Mummy if she was! ;)
Since there is nothing any of us can do but purr like crazy for Jordan, My Mummy is doing something positive (with our help of course) as you will see from the new link banners we are all flying for the Scottish Wildcat Association on our bloggy pages. Please take the time to learn more about these wonderful wild cousins of ours, as they are really Endangered and need our help and support if they have a chance of survival! There are only about 400 of them still in the wild and a few more in a captive breeding program, where they are hoping to have kittens that can be released back into the wilds from soon. They can be found on FB, Twitter and all sorts of other Internet places now, as the campaign to bring more public awareness of their plight starts to take shape. Since My Mummy is a Feline Studies student and has actually worked hands on with a part bred Wildcat and a number of other Wild Cats over the years she is probably going to be one of the contributing writers to their up coming newsletter too. So do please take the time to do your bit for our Wildcat cousins Felis silvestris grampia, fly a link banner, become a member or make a small donation - you know it's worth it!

Friday Flop...
Here I am resting and relaxing on my new quilt, on top of Daddy's pillow, it's just the bestest flop spot ever! It's been so hot here that flopping is all I can manage at the moment, especially as I'm back on the auntibiotics again... However I've not been loosing weight 'cause Mummy caught the recurrence fast, though it looks like I'll have to go onto the really nasty auntibiotics at this rate, the ones that Mummy'll have to wear gloves to give me as you can't touch them even... :( Mummy is fretting a fair bit as I'm sure you can imagine, but everyone is hopeful as I'm fit and healthy other than this rare and evil parasitic gut infection now, so should be able to cope! :)

Wonderful Wednesday!
It's a great day today, My Mummy's just weighed me and has found that 1 week after finishing off all those nasty auntibiotics I have managed to gain back most of the weight I lost so dramatically a few weeks back when I started to get really sick. I have in fact gained a little over 500g's back in the past few weeks and My Mummy informs me I am once more her cuddly little bundle of purry love! :)
Hubert the vet man says he is very pleased with my progress and that he thinks there is a good chance that the worry is now over and I will be a healthy and happy boy from now on, although he told My Mummy that she should keep in a supply of the nasty gloopy stuff that makes my tummy feel better once My Mummy has forced me to swallow some of it, just to be on the safe side. But that with my recent rapid return to normal weight it shows that the bug was caught before it could permanently damage my insides and for this I should smother My Mummy in fur regularly! :) You see if she hadn't been so alert this problem could have become major and one that even a good vet might not catch to start with, as it's not that common...
So I will take my Mummy furring seriously and hope that my tummy is at last under control and won't cause me any more ouchies or sudden weight loss. However if it does both the vet and My Mummy know what to do to make it all better fast! :)

Triumphant Tuesday! :)
Well it's certainly a triumph of sorts as today I finished the last of my auntibiotics, so no more nasty pills getting shoved down my throat for at least a bit now! :) However I'm still having to take this stuff to help stop the tummy upset and to make the good little bugs grow back in my belly again... It's a little less yuck than taking pills, but only a little less!
I have certainly stopped loosing weight, however Mummy has yet to weigh me to see if I've started gaining back a little of the kilo that I lost while sick - yep that's a whole 8-9 week old kitten's worth of weight, so far too much for a usually fit, healthy and athletically built mancat to loose suddenly like I did... Now it's just a case of paws crossed that the auntibiotics have killed off the nasty bugs in my belly and that over the next week or two I can wean off of the yucky gloop that is supposed to help me regrow good belly bugs without a relaps. If there is a relaps then it will confirm My Mummy's worse nightmares and I will have to take a treatment that is highly risky, so paws crossed that I'm actually over it and I will be feeling myself in a couple more weeks! :)

Waaa... Wednesday
Right now I'm kind of a sick boy and having to take a lot of auntiebiotics (the auntie no one likes, as I see it), so for now I won't be around much as My Mummy is having to concentrate rather a lot of time and attention on me to get me better once more. The good thing is that I'm only 6 yrs old and pretty healthy, and My Mummy seems to have caught this before any real internal damage was done (paws crossed), so I have a reasonable chance of a full recovery. However she is all too aware that cats can and do die of this problem as it's very hard to catch, ID and cure - I guess it's lucky for me that My Mummy is very vigelent (not much sneaks by her), even if it does mean being pinned down and forced to take auntiebiotics a few times a day! That's the bit I hate, but My Mummy is doing her level best to make up to me by giving me only the bestest, yummiest chickens to eat and I can sleep on her bed all I want too! :)
One minute I was my normal self, the next I was one sick kitty... I gather I even have to try and gain some weight, once I'm better as it was a sudden weight loss that triggered My Mummy to realise I was masking the fact that I was sick from her. I've now had the lecture about naughty boys hiding things from their Mummy's always getting found out anyway 'cause Mummy's have special senses! Hubert the vet was impressed too as he thinks he'd have missed it himself had My Mummy not bought it to his attention. Well there you have yet one more reason why she's My Mummy, she just knows me far too well to miss even something as subtle as this parasitic gut infection...

Mancat Monday
Oh wow how can I thank you all for the lovely wishes - especially the ones that included cuddles and chicken! :) I got the bestest and longest cuddles with My Mummy and Daddy last night following a good filling up on prime, tender, juicy, chicken! They even let me watch what *I* wanted for as long as *I* wanted, so we all stayed up 'till nearly 2am looking at Cheezburger! ;) I was cuddled up between My Mummy and Daddy in bed, with the laptop in front of me keeping me all nice and warm too - utter bliss... Now to make things even better My Mummy is roasting me a whole chicken today as it is a Bank Holiday, though I think I shall share it with everyone as I'm in such a good mood. I must say this being 6 years old is rather good so far! :)

Happy Birthday to me! :)
Oh yes today I get stuffed full of yummy chicken as I turn 6 years old! :) Only because I'm a kind Uncle and they'd complain will I share my chicken with the kittens too... ;) Ok, because they'd put the bitey on my tail and be generally beastly if they were left out!
All in all it's a wonderful day, the rain they'd predicted has not come and so I've had lots of time to play in the run and sun my belly fluffs, though there seems to be a big Bengal or Tabby Bengal mix tom cat who turned up in our garden today and stopped to drink from Tigmut'hep's froggy pond which caused some upset. Mummy says she'll ask the vet who owns this cat as he's never been seen locally before and is therefore probably new as he could cause serious trouble if he ever got hold of my sister Isis or for that matter little Setra when she's older! More to the point he's likely to spray and make everywhere all smelly... :( Not like the way I made my house smell when I was a Stud, oh no I smelt wonderful! :)

Fantastic Friday!
Wow, not only do I have D'boy home (which means My Mummy stays in even more of the time), but Daddy is now off for 10 days from work! :) Oh what bliss, I got tummy rubs in bed this morning and a lazy morning snuggle with Daddy and Mummy! Isis and the kittens joined in for a bit too to make it extra special - luckily none of the kittens desire "My Spot" on the bed, so it really was wonderful... :)
We've now all had a "Big Breakfast" and the kittens are resting in their portable pen downstairs while D'Boy tries to earn himself some more pocket money by vacuuming the upstairs under My Mummy's supervision, while Daddy does downstairs. Luckily it's not raining 'cause Tigmut'hep can cower in the cat run as he's a big scardy cat at times, although he seems not to mind the new upstairs vacuum cleaner too much at all. In fact none of us really mind it that much, unlike the little "Sofa Sucker" that is soooo noisy! :(
So I guess I'll make the most of this time and might not be around here that much for about a week. However during that time the kittens will be going for their first shots at Hubert the vets as well as us all getting a visit from Enta's potential family - I sure hope this means Mummy'll cook us some chicken so we can be handfed by the visitors. You know I'm really starting to enjoy having visitors like that for some reason! ;)

Funny Friday Fotos...
OK girls this will be a clean round, 1 knock-out or 1 submission is all you need... Remember there's to be no ear biting or eye gouging! The winner gets to play with my squirrel for 20 mins without anyone trying to take it off them - do you have it straight?! Let the fight commence, just remember I'm watching you!!! ;)
Here you can see Setra walking away from the squirrel and Enta enjoying her winnings! ;) My poor squirrel is being so abused it's painful to watch...
Where as Elzar is happy to look sweet and play with his ball... Honestly girls are so much rougher when they play! Oi, Isis stop bopping me, it's true you know... ;)
That's it I'm off for a nap...

Thinking Thursday...
Today I'm thinking a lot about My Mummy, it seems she has to go see some one new about her horrid shoulder injury that is messing with my favourite cuddle spot... I sure hope they get it fixed for her soon as it's been going on now for about 18 months and I'm really suffering because of it! I mean what cat can cope with a reduction in the length and quality of their cuddle time due to pain caused to their Mummy during it?!
Other than that I've been thinking about the kittens and all the lovely chicken that Boy and BG are now eating a few times a day... I have tried to just turn up in the kitten pen when it was chicken time, looking all cute and kitten like, but sadly it seems My Mummy recognizes me instantly and I'm told to get to the back of the queue! Though I hear that the kittens will be trying turkey in the next few days, so maybe my tactics will work better on that?! It's always worth a try... ;) LG has yet to start on solids, so I'd be doing My Mummy a favour eating up any left overs surely... :)
In the meantime I think I shall have a nap with Isis on My Mummy's bed and keep an eye on the little kittens, just in case I've missed a potential chicken feeding time! It's pretty comical to watch them playing with the little wire ball with the mousie inside that Mummy gave them this morning to keep them happy, they've been enjoying trying to get their little paws on the mousie inside! :)

Thinking Thursday...
This week I've been thinking that it's getting far more entertaining to watch the kittens all day... Oh yes they are starting to play with toys and do interesting things! They still smell kind of nice too, so I give them all a good sniffing over most days, I've even ventured so far as to give one of the little girls a wash behind her ears! ;) I guess it won't be long before they're all running round the house with the rest of us, playing games like "Herd of Thundering Elephants" - I mean it's important that these little ones get a properly rounded education. I guess that means having Miss Peach teach them all good manners, so they'll be welcome at tea parties, while making sure they read Daisy's fashion advice and take lessons from Isis in modelling and investigating stuff, just in case they'd like to have a go at investigative reporting later in life! I expect I should show them how badly some cats suffer too (Yau-lin for example), so that they appreciate all the love they get and learn to train their humans well!
All this thinking has me exhausted, I think I had better go for a nap now! ;)

Thankful and Thinking Thursday...
Well mostly I'm thinking I'm a very luck mancat this week and am very thankful to Tama-Chan, little "Red" and Tommy for making me feel this way! Isis is deeply thankful to them too and so it Tigmut'hep when you get past the drug induced haze he's currently in from the Matatabi that Tama-Chan was good enough to send him... ;) Oh yes I think my grumpy old housemate is truly in love this time! It's ok Tama, it's the Matatabi he's wild about! ;) I mean just look at all the goodies out postie brought to us from them in France... When faced with so many wonderful toys and some very yummy treats, no cat can feel anything but special! :)
Other than feeling very thankful for all the toys and treats, I'm thinking that these kittens are getting mighty big and active these days and to think they're only 17 days old! Here's Boy sitting up with a little help from LG and there's BG managing to sit all on her own! My Mummy and D'Boy were cudding with the kittens last night and I got to do some really good kitten sniffing and I think they smell all warm and wonderful! :) They are all such friendly little souls that I'm very proud to be their Uncle. As I take this responsibility seriously I had better go return to my guard duties, while also keeping Isis company. It seems she likes a little "adult cat" company as she says too much time with only kittens around makes a ladycats head go all daft - I wonder if that's what happened to My Mummy when she had D'Boy?! Maybe one day I'll be brave enough to ask! ;)

Thinking Thursday...
Ok, so I was thinking that the kittens bed looked nice and warm and rather cosy... So when My Mummy had the kittens out of it and in their carrier for a bit so she could clean up the "maternity ward" I decided to take my chances and find out if it really is as good as it looks. Well after a good 10 mins of intense research I can affirm that the kittens bed really isn't comfy as you might think, it is in fact far more comfy than you'd ever guess and I was very reluctant to leave it when My Mummy said I had to! It's that all over warmth, combined with slightly supportive softness that I now crave. So when ever I get a chance I'll be back in it for a quick nap... ;)

Thinking and Thankful Thursday...
Well what is there to think about or be thankful for this week other than new life in the form of Isis new and very wonderful 'ickel baby kittens and My Marie's gorgeous little blurpy sister Evangeline?!
This is a photo of little Evie shortly after birth, isn't she just the sweetest little pink bundle of joy?!
Ok, so I'm a big soft sort of Mancat who simply adores babies and kittens not forgetting My Marie and My Mummy of course! ;)
Now I have the added pleasure of showing you all the kittens close up! :) Here is my new nephew known as "Boy" at the moment, he's a feisty lad even if he has little sense of direction - what with his making it into the world bottom first! ;)
Then came Big Girl "BG", by far the biggest of the kittens and never late for dinner - in fact she's now over 160g's at just over 60 hrs old! I must say I do wonder how big she'll be when she's all grown up?! ;)
Finally Little Girl "LG" arrived, she's the smallest kitten of the litter and in fact the smallest kitten Isis has had so far. However she's just as feisty as either of the others and has been gaining weight just as fast as her siblings. LG also has a good set of ear tufts already!
All in all they're a wonderful litter of 'ickle baby kittens and Isis is duly proud of her achievement, however she's not very willing to share her food with me at the moment... I find this most unladycat like even if My Mummy says I should let her eat in peace, sometimes even My Mummy seems to forget that Isis might have something to eat that I'd like too! Well I am her brother and as such she should share everything with me, well ok not the labour pains, but the good food is something I'm always happy to share with anykitty! ;)

Thinking Thursday....
Wow, I can't believe it's Thursday again already! This last week seems to have whizzed by whilst my sister's belly has ballooned... My Mummy's now purrty sure that there'll be more than 4 kittens hidden in there this time round, I guess this is kinda good as My Mummy says I can pick the purrtiest Niece from amongst the girls Isis has this time round and she can stay with us forever and ever! :) You know there's even a chance that some of the kittens will have the same colour furs as I have, if not they'll all have the hidden ability to produce sorrel furs on their own babies when they are grown up. This means that my Niece will be able to produce purrty sorrel furs on her babies when she's old enough to be a Momma Cat, if My Mummy takes her to visit a stud who has this hidden ability too, or who has sorrel furs in the first place... So I've been thinking of all the cute little "mini me's" that might be born here sometime in the future! :)
My next line of thought was about My Marie getting a Blurpy sister very shortly. I'm mega excited about this as My Mummy has known My Marie's Mom for 3 or more years now and she's told me that she's purtty sure that this little Blurpy is going to be one of the best loved Blurpies ever (well as well as D'Boy (even if he's a mega big Blurpy now), Kimo & Sabo's little Blurpy and TT's little Blurpy that she watches from over the Bridge and left with Jake the woofie, Truder, Molly and Shadow to look after), all of you who know me will know I'm all for love! :)
Talking of love, I had lots of it last night with My Mummy and Daddy too! So much so in fact that I came back for seconds around 4am thinking I was onto a good thing, only to get some very mixed reactions as I burrowed my way down the bed and stuck my then cold nose onto Daddy's leg... I see he still requires a little fine tuning on the training front! ;) My Mummy however mumbled something sleepily and put her arm around me for a good long cuddle session that was only upset by the rotten alarm going off and Mummy realizing that she didn't hear D'Boy's alarm go off too. It seems she had to make sure he woke up and got to school on time, so I had to give up my snuggles rights and let her get on with the day. Though I got a little snuggle from D'Boy before he left for school to help make up for it! :)
Finally my thoughts turn to Calgary where Grammy has started just her Radiotherapy and where my beloved Marie lives. She is the only ladycat for me! :) Marie my furever Valentine... :) Oh and yesterday my half-sister (who had 6 kittens last week) Noodle's housemate Indie gave birth to 4 beautiful blue Aby kittens and today is My Mummy's Baby Brother's Birthday today and on Saturday it's Daddy's Mummy's Birthday, so this is a lovely time of year!
PS: I gather Marie's Mommy is in hospital being purrsuaded to give birth right now!!!!!

Thinking Thursday... Step 10!
As many of you are probably aware from seeing the news we're suffering with some beastly snow this week... Yesterday much of it cleared and I got to thinking we'd seen the back of it and life would get back to normal once more. Boy was a wrong as these photos of my run will show you! So once more D'boy is home and able to play with Tigmut'hep all day, keeping him outta my furs and leaving me extra time for snuggling with My Mummy! :) What's more My Mummy is roasting us a chicken later today to make us all feel better about this beastly weather as she was able to go and do the weekly food hunting last night while the roads were clear. My Mummy says that the real issue with snow in the UK is that very few people here know how to drive in it and they're a danger to everyone else... Well that plus the fact that it's not -30C or there abouts when the snow and ice goes all strange and not slippery any more. It's amazing just how much My Mummy knows about this horrid white stuff! Then again My Mummy knows lots about lots of things... :) Best of all she knows lots about feeding me wonderful dinners and giving me extra special cuddles!
Anyway D'Boy is being useful and is shoveling the snow so it's safe for Daddy when he comes home for his lunch and to feed me bikky! I guess that's really been my 10th Step in getting Daddy well trained... Oh yes he now comes home every lunchtime to be with me and feed me bikky from my special bikky pot! Since he started doing this he's a lot more relaxed and content, so it just goes to show the benifits of training your Daddy properly... I mean how many Daddy's get to come home to a loving Aby mancat every lunchtime and have the privilage of hand feeding him a little bikky?! Yes, I know I now treat my Daddy well, but he's worked hard to get to this level of training and as such I must keep on rewarding him a little. At this rate I fear I will one day have to let him pick me out without attempting to disembowl him... ;)

Thinking Thursday & Step 9 - Operation Daddy...
There has been a lot to think about of late, from sadness and worry to what to call Isis kittens when they arrive! I must say I thought the name "never late for dinner" was a good one, but it seems Mummy has other ideas! ;) Talking of dinners, it seems that our latest order from Royal Canin has arrived today and Mummy has changed Tigmut'hep and myself onto a dry food that will make Tigmut'hep chew his food for once and not just stick his face in the bowl and swallow what ever he can! I'm pleased because it's mostly made of dried up fishes and is very easy on the tummy... Isis likes it too, but at present she mostly eats her own separate bikky that has loads of calories in it and all the calcium her growing babies require too! I think we'll have this new bikky mixed with the oral care stuff we always have as a part of our diet. We've had some of this fishy bikky before as a trial and so Mummy knows we like it and it's easy on my belly... I think I'm really looking forward to Daddy coming home at lunchtime now so he can open up the big bag and pour it into our food buckets so Mummy can feed us! :)
Step 9 - Operation Daddy: By now your Daddy will be making plenty of room for you in the bed, as well as calling you to bed and feeding you treats when ever you demand them. So to all intents and purposes he's a very good Daddy now and will only rarely need an application of the "cold shoulder" as you flaunt your devotion to your Mummy in his face to bring him back in line! But never forget that this is essential to his remaining properly trained and under your control... If you forget this essential step you will find him thinking he's in control and that you should listen to him! Oh yes, he'll get all "Lord and Master" and treat you like an obedient woffy and not as his obvious intelectual superior feline Controler! To prevent this sort of tragic mistake you must always remain vigulent and be ready to assert your dominance... It is much easier to keep your Daddy under control than it is to retain one who has delusions of grandure and status! In extreem cases it may be easier to find yourself a new Daddy than to reform an existing poor model. Once they know this however they may suddenly rehabilitate themselves! So if you do find you have let your Daddy laps into these bad ways you can not only throw yourself at your Mummy showing adoration and devotion, but start to do so to any male visitors you might have! Remember when doing this sort of thing you must totally shun the advances of your Daddy until they are once more made on "your terms"! :)

Finking Friday...
The first thing I have been finking about is what wonderful friends I have here! I greatly appreciate all the purrs for my Grammy and Grandpurr in Calgary... Mummy says that Grandpurr's friends have been taking him out to lunch most days, which saves him from having to try and cook much - which in turn saves him from having to eat his own creations! ;) It seems he has less skill in the kitchen than Daddy and Daddy once cooked a frozen pizza with it's wrapper still on it, so you see my worried are quite valid! ;) However Grammy has now had the biopsy taken (so that means they must have her bloodwork looking ok) and we are just waiting for the results. Mummy refers to it as being in limbo, but as far as I can tell there are no low poles to squerm under... Do beans really know what they're saying at times like these? ;)
Secondly I'd like to thank Tama-Chan and Tommy for my lovely award! :) Isis is thrilled with her's too and together we have decided that they should be passed on to our dear Miss Peach and to T'Abby Normal & Stygia who have all helped Isis face the sudden loss of her beloved Sen-Chan. We are so grateful that he lived long enough to know that she was expecting and are sure that he'll be watching over Isis and the kittens when they arrive in just about 3 weeks time now, along with their father Solo's dearly departed friend the lovely Magnificat, whom D'Boy was exceptionally fond of...
Now I fink I will go and snuggle with 'sis on Mummy's bed for a bit as it's all grey and rainy outside and there are no birdies and squirrels to watch. I fink they too must be snuggled away somewhere safe and warm... :)

Step 8 - Operation Daddy etc...
Now that you are getting sufficient room in bed and for that matter called to bed every night by your Daddy for fussing and treats, I must say you are doing pretty well - as am I! :) The only things left to teach your Daddy are subtle refinements and improvements in the way he treats you. My first goal and therefore my Step 8, has been to teach Daddy to fuss me gently in his sleep...
Therefore Step 8 is quite difficult as you're trying to train your Daddy's unconscious brain, so his fussing of you becomes as natural a reflex to him as does rolling over in his sleep to make more room in bed for you! You must therefore go about this with the most gentle of touches so as not to wake the slumbering Daddy... Oh yes just a feather soft touch with a velvet paw will work, though if he remains stubborn you are free to use a little more force, such as the violent headbutt or the claw of death - however this will result in your Dad waking up in a very bad mood, so use them sparingly. The real trick to training your Daddy's subconscious mind is to work on him as he drifts off to sleep and to wake up early to start work on him again the second the radio alarm goes off. If a Dad can fall to sleep fussing you softly and in a pleasing way to you and wake up doing the same, it takes very little for the sleeping brain to work out what it is supposed to be doing when prompted by the touch of your paw... This sort of training is really worthwhile, especially for those Dad's who seem to spend a lot of the day hunting for the family food. It gives you all the time you could want for your fussing with Daddy, while letting him get some vital sleep - I mean you don't want him too weak and tired to hunt you down some yummy treats! Oh no that would be a very bad thing... :( However a Daddy who can fuss you in his sleep will relax deeply and feel more refreshed in the morning, ready to go and tackle the world to get you your rightful treats and dinners! :)
Once you have your Daddy trained in this way you really will have a Daddy to be proud of, though remember to settle for nothing less than purrfection! ;)
On another note I'm having to spend a lot of time cuddling My Mummy right now as she found out yesterday on Grandpurrs 82nd Birthday that Grammy is in hospital (in fact the same one that My Marie's Mommy visits all the time) for a bloodclot in her leg and a suspected tumour in her abdomen, which they haven't been able to biopsy as yet due to the need to bust the clot first. Since Grandpurr is not well domesticated My Mummy's pretty concerned about his ability to look after himself properly, as well as for what is happening to Grammy - especially since she's only just started to recover from having 3 of her 4 parathyroids removed in December. With Isis pregnant too, Mummy's very much bound to be here for the birth and the first few weeks of the kittens lives as she doesn't take her responsibility to us lightly... So if you suddenly notice we're missing for a week or so, you know we're ok and that Mummy's making a mad dash to Calgary. In the meantime, please purr that Grammy is ok and that My Mummy doesn't have to go, cause we just hate it when she's away - even if Daddy is far better trained then he used to be, he's just not My Mummy!

Thinking Thursday...
This being my first Thinking Thursday of 2009, I thought I'd better do some really good thinking... However mostly I've wound up thinking about my belly, what with Isis getting her yummy queen bikky, other delicious treats and late night snacks. Well that and how very silly our housemate Tigmut'hep looks in his pale blue onesies... ;) Additionally with the cold snap we had here last week, I've been thinking about how to keep myself warm and how best to get Daddy to shove over in bed so that I can get into my favourite spot! :)
But on a more serious note, I've been thinking about all the friends we've lost in the past few weeks and even more so about the friend we're about to loose... So far as I'm concerned the Rainbow Bridge has been all too busy of late, with the passing of Vanda (the Guide Dog, aged 7 ) - she was our friend Terry's Guide Dog and without her Terry is both bereft in an emotional sense as well as physically as she was his eyes in the big bad world outside. Sadly Guide Cats for the Blind is not a sensible or apparently legal option, or we'd have sent him Tigmut'hep over to assist him - probably leading Terry to spend prolonged periods of time hunting for catnip or down at the butchers looking for a juicy steak! ;) Next we heard that Magnificat had passed away leaving Solo's Mummy beside herself with grief as he had been with her since his birth just shy of 18 yrs previously. Then my sister's beloved Sen-Chan passed at just 16 months old, leaving a hole in her heart and in that of his #1 as well as his new little sister Tama-Chan and his woffy buddy Tommy. Then Daddy got the news that one of his younger cousins passed this week while his Father was in New Zealand and not due back for a week or so! :( Lastly we just heard that Solo's Mummy's lovely old fawn Aby Fawntasia has a huge and inoperable tumar growing in her chest, it's an aggressive one at that - so after having lost Magnificat, she's having to nurse a terminally ill Fawntasia through her last few weeks this side of the Bridge...
I therefore think that I should spend more time snuggling with My Mummy as life is all too brief and snuggles are all too precious! :)

Step 7 - Operation Daddy
Now that your Daddy is swift at responding to your demands for him to click the clicker and dole out the treats, you can try softening him up at bedtime! Yes, I know it's a big step but it's very worthwhile as he's pretty big and takes up quite a lot of the bed... ;)
You have already established that your place in bed is right between him and Your Mummy and bedtime just doesn't feel right to him without your presence, now start to rub up against him on your way up the bed to your favourite cuddle spot with Your Mummy. A few headbutts can go a long way to making him give up extra bed space to his new "snuggle buddy". Just make sure that you give him a few extra rubs and headbutts when he's been extra good and warmed up the space he's willingly handing over to you and soon you'll have a well warmed and softened up space to occupy between your beloved Mummy and your Daddy. Oh yes that's right everykitty, you must keep them apart or they'll forget to focus all their love and attention on you at bedtime! If you're like myself and have the additional pleasure of sharing your home with one of your very own siblings, or even a co-operative buddy, (that's NOT how I'd discribe Tigmut'hep, ok!) you can get them to help out by holding down their favoured person (even if that also happens to be Your Mummy, just as long as you and they don't vie for the same part of Your Mummy, it'll work) think of the big picture here and go for every square inch of bed space you can... Once this has been achieved life will be so much sweeter and you'll be able to sleep comfortably between your beans all night long if you wish, without fear of getting squished in the process.
So there you have it, a Daddy who gives you treats on command, who can't sleep without you and who gives you plenty of room in the bed while keeping away from Your Mummy and all you've had to do was acknowledge his existance and let him fuss your glorious furs while on occasion giving him a few headbutts! You're ready for the final steps on the road to making your Daddy Better! :)

Mew Year Blues... Operation Daddy - Step 6
Well it's been lovely having Daddy home for the past 2 weeks to work on, but sadly he's back to work today... I guess I'm pleased that D'Boy is back to school too as that gives me more "Mummy Time", but honestly I'm rather missing having my student at home! It seems he's learnt a lot over the past couple of weeks and I have therefore been able to reward him a little more often of late. Ok I admit it I was kind of enjoying rewarding him...
Anyway the clicker training of Daddy has continued over this time and he's now pretty good at supplying my needs on command! :) For this I have started to talk to him directly a little more than I used to. Prior to this almost all my communication with Daddy has gone via My Mummy... It seems he has been studying "cateese" and is now at least able to understand the basic commands without the need for My Mummy to act as his translator! This is a big step forward and I feel that he can now go on to the accelerated program! ;) So remember everykitty that persistence pays off in the end and don't let your Dad slack off his training program, just because he's back to his normal work hours... :)
From this point forward the pace of some Daddy's learning will greatly increase like that of my own, however some will still need a good deal of encouragement and the occasional punishment to keep them in line! I have always found that the best form of punishment is to steal their food, especially when it's getting close to that time when your Mummy goes hunting and the fridge is looking kind of empty, as it's harder for them to find a replacement for that slice of ham you stole from their lunch. Oh yes a few lunches consisting of a marmalade sandwich to go with their banana and a packet of crisps will surely make them pay more attention to you in future! ;)
Anyway for now I can take a break from Daddy's intensive training course and have a good long cuddle with Mummy and Isis! Mummy and I have spent a lot of time cuddling her of late as she's feeling the loss of her beloved Sen-Chan quite a bit... The really lovely thing was Sen-Chan's #1 phoning My Mummy yesterday for a chat and to make sure that Isis is doing just fine healthwise at this time, it quite made all of our days and I gather that there may well be family visits in the future! :)
Talking of family visits Mummy, Daddy and D'boy had a lovely visit with some of Mummy's many cousins and second-cousins on Saturday and she came home with some very nice kitty smells on her. So it seems that 2009 will probably bring us plenty of people to fur on! Well a mancat can but hope... ;)
