Oh wow how can I thank you all for the lovely wishes - especially the ones that included cuddles and chicken! :) I got the bestest and longest cuddles with My Mummy and Daddy last night following a good filling up on prime, tender, juicy, chicken! They even let me watch what *I* wanted for as long as *I* wanted, so we all stayed up 'till nearly 2am looking at Cheezburger! ;) I was cuddled up between My Mummy and Daddy in bed, with the laptop in front of me keeping me all nice and warm too - utter bliss... Now to make things even better My Mummy is roasting me a whole chicken today as it is a Bank Holiday, though I think I shall share it with everyone as I'm in such a good mood. I must say this being 6 years old is rather good so far! :)

Finking Friday...
The first thing I have been finking about is what wonderful friends I have here! I greatly appreciate all the purrs for my Grammy and Grandpurr in Calgary... Mummy says that Grandpurr's friends have been taking him out to lunch most days, which saves him from having to try and cook much - which in turn saves him from having to eat his own creations! ;) It seems he has less skill in the kitchen than Daddy and Daddy once cooked a frozen pizza with it's wrapper still on it, so you see my worried are quite valid! ;) However Grammy has now had the biopsy taken (so that means they must have her bloodwork looking ok) and we are just waiting for the results. Mummy refers to it as being in limbo, but as far as I can tell there are no low poles to squerm under... Do beans really know what they're saying at times like these? ;)Secondly I'd like to thank Tama-Chan and Tommy for my lovely award! :) Isis is thrilled with her's too and together we have decided that they should be passed on to our dear Miss Peach and to T'Abby Normal & Stygia who have all helped Isis face the sudden loss of her beloved Sen-Chan. We are so grateful that he lived long enough to know that she was expecting and are sure that he'll be watching over Isis and the kittens when they arrive in just about 3 weeks time now, along with their father Solo's dearly departed friend the lovely Magnificat, whom D'Boy was exceptionally fond of...
Now I fink I will go and snuggle with 'sis on Mummy's bed for a bit as it's all grey and rainy outside and there are no birdies and squirrels to watch. I fink they too must be snuggled away somewhere safe and warm... :)

Step 8 - Operation Daddy etc...
Now that you are getting sufficient room in bed and for that matter called to bed every night by your Daddy for fussing and treats, I must say you are doing pretty well - as am I! :) The only things left to teach your Daddy are subtle refinements and improvements in the way he treats you. My first goal and therefore my Step 8, has been to teach Daddy to fuss me gently in his sleep...
Therefore Step 8 is quite difficult as you're trying to train your Daddy's unconscious brain, so his fussing of you becomes as natural a reflex to him as does rolling over in his sleep to make more room in bed for you! You must therefore go about this with the most gentle of touches so as not to wake the slumbering Daddy... Oh yes just a feather soft touch with a velvet paw will work, though if he remains stubborn you are free to use a little more force, such as the violent headbutt or the claw of death - however this will result in your Dad waking up in a very bad mood, so use them sparingly. The real trick to training your Daddy's subconscious mind is to work on him as he drifts off to sleep and to wake up early to start work on him again the second the radio alarm goes off. If a Dad can fall to sleep fussing you softly and in a pleasing way to you and wake up doing the same, it takes very little for the sleeping brain to work out what it is supposed to be doing when prompted by the touch of your paw... This sort of training is really worthwhile, especially for those Dad's who seem to spend a lot of the day hunting for the family food. It gives you all the time you could want for your fussing with Daddy, while letting him get some vital sleep - I mean you don't want him too weak and tired to hunt you down some yummy treats! Oh no that would be a very bad thing... :( However a Daddy who can fuss you in his sleep will relax deeply and feel more refreshed in the morning, ready to go and tackle the world to get you your rightful treats and dinners! :)
Once you have your Daddy trained in this way you really will have a Daddy to be proud of, though remember to settle for nothing less than purrfection! ;)
On another note I'm having to spend a lot of time cuddling My Mummy right now as she found out yesterday on Grandpurrs 82nd Birthday that Grammy is in hospital (in fact the same one that My Marie's Mommy visits all the time) for a bloodclot in her leg and a suspected tumour in her abdomen, which they haven't been able to biopsy as yet due to the need to bust the clot first. Since Grandpurr is not well domesticated My Mummy's pretty concerned about his ability to look after himself properly, as well as for what is happening to Grammy - especially since she's only just started to recover from having 3 of her 4 parathyroids removed in December. With Isis pregnant too, Mummy's very much bound to be here for the birth and the first few weeks of the kittens lives as she doesn't take her responsibility to us lightly... So if you suddenly notice we're missing for a week or so, you know we're ok and that Mummy's making a mad dash to Calgary. In the meantime, please purr that Grammy is ok and that My Mummy doesn't have to go, cause we just hate it when she's away - even if Daddy is far better trained then he used to be, he's just not My Mummy!

Well again Wednesday!
It's a bit of a busy week here as D'Boy is off on his half-term holidays... The upside of this is My Mummy gets to snuggle us in bed for a little longer in the morning, before having to get up! :) The other bit of good news is that my eye is all better it seems and I've not had to have drops for a few days now! :) It's so good not to have an itchy, sore eye and even better not to have to be pinned down 3 times a day by My Mummy, while she forces drops in my eye... :( While I just love cuddling with My Mummy, I can do without being pinned down by her thank you very much!
Anyway just to prove that as soon as the drops had ended I was over my sulks at her, last night I squirmed down the bed and made myself really comfy and warm all snuggled up against her side with my little nose being all you could see above the covers! ;) Well it was cold and snowy here and I'm not one for holding a grudge when there's a nice warm patch to be had you know... :)

Fr"eye"day
Honestly, what is it with this time of year and my eyes? Yep, I've gone and got myself an eye infection once more... :( It's not a bad one like last year at least and Mummy says I only need to have the drops in for a few more days now as it's clearing up, but it's just not fair! So ok maybe I don't wash my paws as much as I should before rubbing my eyes, but I don't deserve a week of drops in the eye or worse yet a ride in the PTU and a visit to the VET! Oh no not me, I'm a good boy...
Well at least Mummy'd arranged for it to be a Lady Vet, and one who appreciated my good looks and superior character. In fact the only thing wrong with her, was the fact that she hasn't learnt to talk Abyssinian, so she couldn't understand me when I told her to get her great big pink paws off of my gorgeous sorrel furs! But she did make the examination quick and of course My Mummy was by my side the whole time, so it's a trauma I will get over in time... well ok will enough treats applied! ;) Anyway Sue the receptionist is well on her way to understanding quite a bit of Abyssinian and fully understood me when I told Mummy that she could think again if she thought I'd co-operate when it came to drop application time. Nope I wasn't going to give in to her bribary, not no way... So other than my itchy eye and the nasty drops, I've been doing rather well this week with 24/7 access to the bed and lots of yummy treats, including some ducky jerky for kitties! :)
Oh well off to claim some more treats as I gather I'm needed for another round of torture and the application of a medicated drop to my right eye... Then I think I'll have a nap in the bed with my 'sis before lunch!
Just remember Mummy I'm not going back to the Lady Vet or any Vet for that matter, even if the Lady Vet comes from High River, AB and knows a lot of the places you used to live in!

Mancat Monday...
Once more it's Mancat Monday and I'm left here wondering where the weekend went and why I didn't get more time snuggling My Mummy in bed... Well ok so I did manage a good 8 hrs or so on both Saturday and Sunday night, but it's just not enough for a cat like myself who was just born to snuggle!
Additionally we were abandoned for about 90 squillion hours on Saturday, while My Mummy went to the bean vets for her annual shots and then all the family went off for the day to help Dad's Mum tidy up her garden in time for winter.
As you can see from these photos My Mummy took a little while ago at the garden, it's rather big and so takes lots of looking after... So it took My Mummy squillions of hours to mow all the grass, while Dad did some fence mending and helped his Mum harvest some of the apples in what's left of the old orchard. D'boy helped with that too as he just loves My Mummy's apple pies and tarts as well as the apple sauce she makes to go with yummy roast pork!
Sadly there was no roast pork this weekend for us cats, just more yummy roast chicken! ;) Boy oh boy did I enjoy our share of that as this time it made us a Sunday dinner just like our bean family as well as a Mancat Monday breakfast!!! :) Well you know I'm always ready and able to eat chicken... ;)
So to the week ahead... Today it Mummy's last day before turning older once more, so I shall expect more cuddling later and yet more on her big day tomorrow. Hopefully Dad will make her breakfast in bed so I don't have to get up so early, though I'm not sure he'll go as far as bringing me my bowl up with him too! ;)
Anyway I think that's all for now and I'm about ready for my first nap of the day.
It's a hard life being a cat... ;)

Thinking Thursday 13...
Well I've not been doing much thinking of late, so I thought I'd do some today since it's Thursday... My thoughts for the day are as follows:
1. I just LOVE My Mummy's new bed, it's soooooo comfy.
2. Why did My Mummy have to get up, I was soooooo comfy.
3. Why does Dad have to take up so much room, if he'd move over a foot or two I'd be even more comfy! ;)
4. Why does Isis have to be in a playful mood when I'm soooooo sleepy?
5. Why did Tigmut'hep get up, it's practically unnatural? ;)
6. Why isn't the catnip growing as well now, it's just not fair... :(
7. How come Tigmut'hep always manages to get the largest portion at breakfast, he's such a piggy!
8. Why is Tigmut'hep obsessed with his own belly?
9. How come Isis keeps on talking about boys as soon as the weather starts getting cooler?
10. How many kittens will she have in her next litter and can I play with them all? :)
11. Will I get extra treats for being a good Uncle from My Mummy?
12. When do the clocks change so I can have an extra hour in bed with My Mummy?
13. How much longer is it until bedtime, I'm soooooo sleepy? (ok so I shouldn't have stayed up most of the night playing chase with my 'sis....)

Thinking Thursday...
Today I'm mostly thinking that in a few hours the new bed arrives and I wanna be the first to try it out! Isis has the same idea, so we're both laying in wait for the delivery men to arrive... ;) Tigmut'hep has been shut out of D'boy's room as it's a mess and My Mummy says he has to tidy it up, so he's taken D'Boy's big toy rat and has dragged it off to his own bed! Honestly he's such a big baby wanting to sleep with teddies all the time, you'd never find me doing a thing like that, well not often anyway...
Other than that I think I had a very good cuddle and fuss with Mummy last night, so did Isis! I can't wait 'till bedtime tonight to see if snuggling with Mummy in the new bed is even better... After all Mummy's going to be really tired tonight as she had to get up early to take Dad to the train station this morning and not only has to go pick him up again later, but has a meeting to go to at D'Boy's school after dinner!

Mancat and Manflu Monday
It seems that D'boy has responded well to our treatment, My Mummy's on the mend if still unwell but Dad seems to still have raging manflu really badly... So badly so in fact that My Mummy is going to have to take him to the vets in a bit. The thing is we're a little concerned that due to his advanced years (he's well over 20 yrs old now you know) and the serious condition he's in - well you know what we're worrying about...! :( I mean he's a good Dad and has over the years become quite expert in giving belly rubs and general fusses, so we'd kinda like to keep him. Honestly when he's not suffering from manflu he seems fit and healthy, so paws crossed the vet will think he's worth the effort too! ;) Oh and My Mummy seems to like Dad as well, so I'm sure she'll put in a good word for him with the vet... :)
Other than that Mummy fed me the bestest chicken ever this weekend and it seems all the family have clubed together to buy us cats some nice new beds and pillows to match! Oh yes, Tigmut'hep has a soft and comfy new single bed that he likes to share with D'boy, while Isis and I have a brand new memory foam double bed sized matress arriving later in the week, though we already have some very nice new soft fluffy pillows to share with My Mummy and Dad... We're both very excited about the imminant arrival of the new matress as it's supposed to mold to our bodies and kind of cradle us as we sleep! It took ages for Dad and My Mummy to find just the right one for us, so I hope they got it right - after all a cat likes to be very comfy when it sleeps! :)

Belated Mancat Monday
Well this is the last picture of Isis son's all together. From left to right, you can see Django, Dandy and Dizzy. It's certainly a little quieter around here with out Dizzy, but Mummy's been busy with paperwork so I guess she's pleased it's quieter so she can get it all done... Just today and 2 more full days here and Django goes to his new home too. It'll be a lot quieter after that I bet! This is defiantly a good thing as Mummy's explained to me that I have to babysit Delta and Dandy on Saturday with some help from Tigmut'hep... Yer right Mummy Tigmut'hep probably needs more babysitting than the kittens do! Honestly you'd think she'd know that by now... ;)
My sweet friend Storm, (the most beautiful Siamese cat in the World) has given me a lovely award and called me handsome too! Yes, I bet you can all see that I'm still blushing in this photo of me helping Mummy make the bed this morning... ;)
You see she's got a new bedspread and it needs a lot of attention to make it just right and I'm the mancat for the job as you all know! I'm a bed specialist and can kneed and burrow with the best of them... ;)

Finking Friday...
Well it's been a good week for finking round here! What with making a Valentines for My Marie and hearing about the freezing cold weather they're having in Calgary at this moment - well as you might be able to guess, I'z been thinking a lot about My Marie and snuggling in warm places! ;)
My Grandpur in Calgary finally gotted his 80th Birthday present, and there'd been me finking that the postlady must have eaten it or losted it... :( But finally it arrived and he loved what we gotted him! :) He's hadded a rotten, bad, yucky, stinking cold from the deepest depths of somewhere nasty all over KissMouse and New Years, so My Mummy was very glad to hear he's starting to improve... She's been worrying herself half daft! Dad says that's easy for her to do for some reason I can't quite make out, but he always giggles when he says it so I fink he's being naughty! ;)
It's been a little cold here for the past few nights, so I finked it was better to snuggle under the blankets with My Mummy and Dad! Oh boy was I right, it was so toasty and warm there - which of course made me fink more about My Marie freezing her beautiful little paws off in Canada... For some reason when I finked about her as I slept, I'z got even warmer! By morning My Mummy said I was like a little red hot inferno - Oh yes a red hot inferno of love! ;)
The other thing I'z gotta fink about and be very thankful for is my good friends at Chat Aux Sphynx, Dragonheart and his cute little brother Merlin gave me this lovely award! :)
I'd like to take this opportunity to pass it on to the prettiest little white kitty ever created, My Marie! :) In addition to My Marie, I'd like to pass it along to that evil genius, the only cat I know with his very own Island - HRH Yao-Lin. Lastly but by no means leastly I fink I'll pass it to the only other Abyssinian I know that blogs and isn't related to me, the lovely TT! :)

In reciept of good stuff...
Well I'z guess I can say my little 'sis has been in receipt of lotsa new toys... You see she's discovered where Dad keeps all his credit card receipts each month so he can check them off against his statement. The thing is the silly girl finks the receipts are really cat toys and spent most of last night digging out Dad's stash and batting them around the house! ;) I finks Dad's going to have to hunt under the sofas and beds here before being able to
check his statement this month... Oh well My Mummy's not cross at any of us as she keeps tellin' Dad that he should find a better place to keep his receipts! ;) When Dad wasn't listening Isis even gotted a thank you from My Mummy! :)
We'z got other good stuff too though! My Mummy and Dad made us a special patio door insert that means we can get out into our run when ever we want pretty much! :) Because of the way our house is designed there isn't a proper home for a cat flap, the only access to the garden is via patio doors and we'z not gotten a wall that Dad could make a hole in for one of those through the wall flaps. So My Mummy and Dad putted their finking caps on and came up with a patio door insert with fitted cat flap, leading straight into our run! :) Tigmut'hep so loves going out that he might even lay off snitching everyone else's food, cause iffen he keeps piggin' he won't be able to get his big furry butt through the flap... ;) Now My Mummy's not heating the garden when we'z wanna go out in cold weather either and apparently that's more environmentally friendly than letting all the heatin' outta the house - though I'z not so sure iffen our pond froggies will agree! ;)
Lastly I'z gotted my cone off after My Mummy had a good look at my eye last night, then I gotted to snuggle with her and watch TV in bed as Dad wanted to watch a movie that My Mummy wasn't at all interested in! I'z gotted over 2 hrs of solid snuggling with My Mummy and it was total bliss, cause she scratched my head and ears for me and rubbed under my chin and helped me settle my neck furs down from where they'd been pushed by the horrid collar I'z been wearing with d'conehead. I'z so happy not to have dat cone on my head that I even let Dad feed me my dinner... Usually I'z insist on My Mummy doing my dinner, but when I'z in a good mood I'z not fussy! :)
check his statement this month... Oh well My Mummy's not cross at any of us as she keeps tellin' Dad that he should find a better place to keep his receipts! ;) When Dad wasn't listening Isis even gotted a thank you from My Mummy! :)We'z got other good stuff too though! Thanks goodness it's Friday!
It wasn't fair that Mummy had to get up this morning, I'd just got myself all nice and comfy with her in bed... Isis was where she should be on Mummy's toes and all was right in the world and then off went the alarm clock! :( Telling us we had to get off Mummy and let her get up... It's not fair I tell you, we were comfy and being very well behaved! Couldn't we just have 1-2 more hours in bed with Mummy, please?
Oh well at least it's Friday and that means no alarm clock going off tomorrow morning, we can snuggle Mummy as long as we like and have a nice long lazy breakfast too if we feel like it! :) Maybe Isis can get Mummy to cook us some eggy? I mean she is the queen of eggy poaching! No eggy is safe if my 'sis is about 'n hungry, she'll happily steal 'em off the plate the second you turn your head! She's not like this with any other food, but eggy's her fave and she tends to get what she wants one way or another... ;) The good thing is she also tends to share her booty and since I'm rather partial to an eggy myself this is a rather good thing! You see I'm far too well behaved to go poaching eggy's off of plates, I don't even beg like Tigmut'hep does for his faves, like peas, sweetcorn, chilli, tacos and fried fish! No I just sit there and gaze longingly at the yummy food in question and hope that Mummy can read my mind! Lucky for me, most of the time she gets it right, mostly 'cause I think at her real hard. ;) The I get a spoonful of strawberry yoghurt, a bit of extra gravy put in my bowl, or some yummy eggy! Just thinking about it's got me all hungry again, so I'd better go see what I can find in the kitchen to eat... :)

Monday Night Mummy Snuggling!
Last night was the coldest night we've had in ages here, and sometime around 2am Mummy started to feel a little cool and grabbed her chenille throw to warm her up. This of course signalled her desprate need for a hot cat or two, so being thoughtful creatures Isis and I ran to her assistance! Isis took on warming up Mummy's feet, between the odd bout of wanting to play with them and have a little nibble, I being the more senior cat and far better trained for the job, squermed my way between Mummy & Dad and started heating her left arm and burying myself under the wonderful chenille while demanding fussing in payment for my donations of kitty heat! :)
All went rather well for about 30 mins or so, until Isis forgot her place and succumbed to the tempting chenille and worked her way up Mummy's body until she too could partake in its luxurious feel and warmth, the trouble was she sat on my head while doing so! So just as Mummy was drifting back off to sleep with me nice and warm beneath the folds of soft chenille, there was a sudden moaning from me and Isis took off vertical as I managed to get a claw into her bottom, sadly catching Mummy's finger as I did so... So we were told to go take our squabble to the other room as Mummy, now nicely heated turned over and went back to sleep! Little did she know that as soon as she fell back to sleep we'd be back! :) Oh yes, it's hard to keep a good cat down, so as soon as she was fast asleep Isis crawled back onto Mummy's feet and I wriggled my way back between her and Dad and under the throw, though this time I had to make do without a fussing... Oh well I got my share of the chenille blanket! ;)

Tag team Tuesday...
This morning we all decided to take it in turn to pin Mummy down in bed and fuss her! It was great fun and Dad even managed to get a photo of Isis and me sitting on Mummy - Tigs moved as soon as Dad went to get the camera as he thought it ment he was about to get some breakfast... ;)
Now Isis tells me I have to show you all the pretty pictures Mummy took of her yesterday, or she won't share the toy rat she's stollen from Tigs with me... Well it looks like a good game, so I guess I'd better show you her photos! ;)
