It seems Dad's given the boy his germs and now My Mummy has him home in bed for the day! Again this means us kitties has access to the bedroom and the urge to snuggle up in bed is getting really hard to fight... Isis is grumping though as the boy has kept his slippers on to keep her off his feet for once! ;) Seems the boy is smarter than he looks...Hopefully My Mummy won't get Dad's germs, 'cause if she gets sick we won't get the level of service we like around here! ;) Oh and she needs to make us our celebration jelly! :)Here's the recipe for those of you who have Mom's who'd like to try it out:
Chicken and 'nip Celebration Jelly 1/2 lb (aprox.) of chicken meat (brown meat is actually best)1 small carrot - adds vitamins as well as a bit of roughage (dietary fiber)
1 small handful of peas - adds vitamins and roughage too
1 packet of gelatineWater
1 egg cup full of Cranberry Juice (added for Tigmut'hep's sake - it helps sufferers if FLUTD as it acidifies the meal somewhat)
1 small handful of fresh 'nip leaves
Cube the chicken and put it in a sauce pan, add the carrot and peas and cover with water - at least 1/2 pint (1 Cup). Bring to the boil and simmer for at least 1/2 hr - this makes the meat very tender and yummy! Now take 1/4 pint of the liquid and put it in a bowl and dissolve the gelatine in it, stir and make sure it's fully dissolved. Now take a few of the cubes of chicken and put them into two flat containers (preferably ones that have lids), the rest of the chicken, carrot and pea mixture should be liquidised with the rest of the fluid and add it to the gelatine mixture to make it up to about 1 pint (add extra water if needed) put the fresh 'nip and cranberry juice in now, and stir to make sure the 'nip, meat and gelatine combine evenly and pour over the cubes of chicken in the two containers. Now leave to cool for about 1 hr and then put the lids on the containers and carefully put in the fridge to set - about 1-2 hrs. Once this is set it's time to PARTY! :)
It's just so good! It really will take a lot of will power for us all not to start eating it the second it sets... Though well be good and save it for us all to share at the Party to mark the joint Gotcha Day's of Tigmut'hep, Donny, My Marie and me! :) Each of us found our furever homes in late November and thought it would make the Party extra special if we could all celebrate that fact! :)
Ok, so I nearly made a silly mistake earlier today during our ususal Monday morning madness... It's not like it's my fault that the boy had left his backpack on the floor in the living room while he was having breakfast! I can't really help being curious about stuff either, it's all part of being a cat after all... But in the midst of my morning madness I climbed into the backpack and hid from Isis as a part of our game. I must say it was quite nice in there and it was certainly peaceful, so I thought I might as well catch 40 winks before continueing the game...
Well it's darn lucky that Mummy's got a bad cold and that they boy was walking to school today, as he normally drags his backpack to the car and then on into school. Today however due to Mummy's asthma playing up with this beastly cold she has, he had to put it on properly and noticed it weighted a bit more than usual and wiggled in a most un-lunchbox like way! Well what does he expect when he's got a bag full of sleepy cat?! So I was tipped out onto the sofa and his lunchbox was found and put in my place and off he went to school, laughing about his lunch now being much better for him than it had been when it was *me* in the bag! I'd have made sure he got furballs if he tried chewing on me at lunchtime that's for sure! ;)
Well things have calmed down at last, but Mummy claims we've all gone mad this morning... It all started with Isis crawling under the covers in the boys room to give him his wake up toe attack, then when she was sure she'd woken him up fully, she pinning me down in my bed and cleaning my ears out. That was fine, but then she wanted to clean my belly fluff for me... So I rolled over and played cute and she started to clean away, but then she was possessed by some demon and decided to nip my belly! Well that was it and I got hold of her tail with my teeth, next thing we knew we'd fallen out of my bed and onto the sofa in a big squerming ball of mad Aby fluff... Next came the running round the living room doing motorbike turnes and just about climbing the walls, then it was the wrestling match on the carpet with Tigmut'hep acting as ref - until Isis decided to make a grab for his tail too! Then the real fun started...Soon there was three cats running round the house like mad things and this continued for about 30 mins or so - by which time Mummy'd taken cover in her office and the boy had locked himself in his room. You see Isis decided the tie at the back of Mummy's top was a toy and mid way through bopping Tigs she took off vertical and attached herself to it... You should have seen Mummy jump! Then Isis decided the boy's feet were on the menu again as he tried to climb the stairs - all this madness and no 'nip! ;)Oh talking about 'nip Mummy's got a great recipe for chicken and 'nip cat jelly which is such a treat!!!!! She says if we're good and play nice for the rest of the morning (I think this means no attacking her top's tie back, or the boy's feet), she'll make us some this week - though maybe without the 'nip if Isis continues to act like such a nutter! ;) Just think a big plate of tasty chicken jelly with little bits of chicken in it - Meow make mine a double! :)
Well I for one was reasonably pleased to hear that only one of us kitties was due a trip to see the V.E.T. this morning, well I wasn't the kitty who needed to visit the V.E.T. and could remain in the nice dry warmth of the house while Isis and Mummy braved the rain and cool temperatures outside. Yes we're back to icky weather here again... :(So Isis met the V.E.T. and from what she's said to me it was all very nice. No nasty needles, no icky pills or medicine, just a nice lady vet who gave her a fuss all over and told her how beautiful she was and what a good mummy cat she'd make one day! She told Mummy that Isis looked very well cared for and was very, very lovely. It seems Isis fooled the lady vet into thinking she was a nice calm kitty - rather than the total raving nutter she is! I bet she didn't show the lady vet how good she is at running round the walls, while trying hard to our run her tail... ;)Anyway we all got a nice big breakfast when she got back and that's always a good thing! :)Oh and Tigmut'hep has eased off grumping since Mummy & Dad let the boy talk to him on the phone last night all the way from Canada. It was amazing to watch Dad catch the old grump and Mummy hold the phone to his ear, at first he scowled and grumbled and as soon as the boy started talking to him he relaxed and started demanding a fussing. By the time the call was over he was pretty much back to his normal self and had kissed goodbye to the Mr. Grumpy Cat attitude! He even turned up in bed with Mummy this morning for a cuddle, though it was ok as I still got mine as well! :)
