Here I am resting and relaxing on my new quilt, on top of Daddy's pillow, it's just the bestest flop spot ever! It's been so hot here that flopping is all I can manage at the moment, especially as I'm back on the auntibiotics again... However I've not been loosing weight 'cause Mummy caught the recurrence fast, though it looks like I'll have to go onto the really nasty auntibiotics at this rate, the ones that Mummy'll have to wear gloves to give me as you can't touch them even... :( Mummy is fretting a fair bit as I'm sure you can imagine, but everyone is hopeful as I'm fit and healthy other than this rare and evil parasitic gut infection now, so should be able to cope! :)

Friday Flop...

Fun Friday
Ahoy me hearties, it's that time of year again! So all you land lubbers better watch out as I "Capt. Ramy Red Beard" go a pillaging and a raiding with my trusty ship mate "Yo Ho 'Sis" and that old salty dog "Tigs the Terrible". We are a hoping to plunder the bikky barrel and once our bellies are full we'll swig some grog and partake of a little 'nip! Oh yer it's a pirate's life for me all right, though I do worry about "Yo Ho 'Sis" and her desires for a Jolly Rogering at times... ;)

Food on Friday
It seems there is quite a demand for My Mummy's special catnip jelly recipe! Anyway since she made us a big batch of it this morning I thought I'd better make notes so I could tell everykitty all about it as it's so darn yummy on a hot day, well on any day really... ;)
500g Chicken or Turkey meat - other meat works too if you have a preference or just some spare
2 tbsp Pudding Rice - any rice will do really
3 pints Water
4 tbsp Dried home-grown Catnip leaves, cut that to 4 tsp if you're using the finer cut up commercial dry catnip or you'll all wind up like Tigmut'hep! ;)
3 packets of gelatine or enough to set 3 pints of fluid
Cube up the meat and put in a large pot of pressure cooker (Mummy has special little baskets for her pressure cooker, each basket holds about 250g of cubed up meat the right amount for one tray of turkey terrine or chunks in jelly). Add the rice, water and about 1/2 of the catnip. Cook until the meat is nice and tender and the rice is done, allow to cool a little and add the remaining catnip leaves to the stock/tea. Remove the meat and most of the rice and put in a container or two, next take 1 pint of stock/tea at a time and add 1 packet of gelatine to each - stirring until dissolved. Pour in enough to cover the meat in it's containers and then take the rest and pour that and any remaining rice onto the other containers (nice flat bottomed shallow ones make it easy to cut off bits and serve without it sticking) . Now just leave to cool, once cool refrigerate until set. Serve as desired or freeze some for a later date (defrost before serving).
This recipe gives enough for 2 containers of meat jelly or terrine (just liquidize the meat and rice in the stock/tea and jelly solution for terrine), and 3 of jelly that is great as a treat in the summer to assist in keeping your cat adequately hydrated and cool. It also makes a good placebo meal for a cat who's living with kittens and wants to join in at every meal time without causing them to gain too much weight! If you want to feed your cat like this on a regular basis you need to add a good quality vitamin supplement to the jelly, containing turine, biotin and the like. It's also a good idea to add in a little processed cooked carrot to help achieve a more balanced meal including dietary fiber. As the recipe is it's just good as a hydrating treat and the meat in jelly or terrine can be used along side a top quality dry food as a part of their daily meat.

Finking Friday
Well for a start I fink Isis' kittens are growing like weeds! They all weighed in over 270g this morning, not bad considering they started life at little more than 100g each - I fink this means that any cat with weight issues should avoid Mothers Milk at all costs, don't ask me how Skeezix keeps his figure... ;)
I've been watching the kittens too and I fink they will be walking next week, so far they manage a few wobbly steps and them a bottom flop! Could it be that drinking as much Mothers Milk as the kittens do makes the legs wobbly? Seeing as I like my belly just the size it is and not all big and bloated I fink this is an experiment that will just have to be left for now... ;) I'd ask my 'sis, but I fink that if I suggested that Mothers Milk was anything but the finest health drink in the world she's "bop" me good and proper!
My Mummy says that in a little over a week the kittens can try eating solids for the first time and start learning about litter trays too! While I'm not interested in the contents of a kittens litter tray, I might well be interested in what's in their food bowl! :) At the least I fink I'll need to give it a good sniffing! ;) You see I fink of myself as "quality control"! :)

Finking Friday...
Well this week I've had lots to fink about for sure! I've finked about why My Mummy gave the kittens the names she has for a start... It seems that it's for a number of reasons, my Grandpur is an ex professional Jazz Musician and he turned 80 yrs old in January, the man at Silversmoke who owns their Daddy (Dan Dare) was a professional Jazz Musician too, of about the same era as Grandpur! Then there's the fact that all their names start with the letter D, well that's for their Daddy, Dan Dare, as well as for d'boy's first initial too! :) So it seems My Mummy can do lots of finking, just like me! ;)I've also done finking about how cute the kittens are, most of this sort of finking has gone on as I've sat guard on them hour after hour. I fink my little half-sister Isis is an awesome Momma cat, especially as it's her first time being a Momma! :) I finks I'm very privileged at having actually witnessed the birth and that she lets me sniff the kittens and occasionally kiss them too... Not many mancats get this sort of privilege ever, not even iffen they're the Daddy! :) I fink there's a lot to be said for being an Uncle... Not to mention I've had a chance to lick kitten formula off of My Mummy's fingers, though unlike my milk mad half-sister I don't also try and suck it straight from the bottle. I fink she has more of it than all the kittens combined! ;)
Mostly this week I fink I love my 'sis and all her lovely ickle baby kittens... :) Birth is a miracle and I've been one very privileged mancat to have been the Daddy of 6 kittens of my own and the Uncle to many more, but these 4 in specific! :) Oh and in about 6 weeks time I'm going to be an Uncle again... Oh yes, one of my other half-sisters Noodle was confirmed pregnant this week! This will be Noodle's second lot of kittens but the Daddy, Frodo, is a first time father - they both live with My Mummy's friend Chris and a number of other lovely Aby girls - I fink Frodo has a bit of a harem going on there to be honest... ;)

Finking Friday...
Well firstly I fink I'd better let you all know where you can see video of Isis belly moving as so many of you have shown an interest in it! If you go to My Mummy's Abyssinian Cat Breeder Website via this link and look for the button that says Video File, you will find your self face to belly with all the movement! ;)
Other than that I fink I'd better keep a really good eye out for that Stork as it's getting closer all the time! ;) Maybe a nap first might help prepare me for being an Uncle though and I don't want to be all tired and sleepy, so just forty winks on My Mummy's bed and then back on duty! :)

Finking Friday!
Well I've had lots to fink about this week... From how to keep My Mummy away from my infectious Dad, sadly this didn't work well enough and I've been left to nurse My Mummy now that Dad's fit for work again! Oh and I've gotta nurse d'boy too as he's sick too... :( Now iffen they'd got their shots at the vets like I did late last year, I'm sure they'd have been fine! ;)
I've also been finking about being related to famous movie star cats! Does this mean My Marie will desire me even more? Mmmm... I fink I might like finding out! ;)
Then I did some finking about being an Uncle this time next week, if not then, it won't be much longer! :) Isis has a really "Wide Load" now and it's funny watching her belly move on it's own... First there is a lump in one place, then it migrates! I've therefore been finking what it must feel like to have your very own belly "possessed", like in Torchwood the other week!
Finking of Torchwood, It would be nice if My Mummy would pay me more attention when watching it... I mean I'm much better looking than John Barrowman and I do come from movie star stock! ;)

Finking Friday...
Well mostly I'z been finking of love and snoopervising this week... The love bit as ever is wonderful with My Marie, 'cause she's just the most purrfect ladycat in the whole world! :) When I can't be with her I gaze lovingly at her photo on the wall in My Mummy's office...
The snoopervision however has been hard work... Dad's doing well I guess, but the whole house smells of paint and he nearly bopped My Mummy on the head with the stepladder! In fact he's a ruddy danger with a stepladder... I was starting to fink we'd have to call the fire brigade to come rescue him from it at one point - now wouldn't that have caused a laugh?! A cat calling to get his Dad down from a ladder... *giggle* I fink Dad would have been teased a lot iffen I'd had to do that! ;) But I fink he's done with that bit and is now onto the really smelly paint that makes your furs stick to it... I fink I'll keep clear of the work site for a bit as I like my furs just the colour they are at present! ;) At least Dad can do this bit of the job from the ground and not halfway in the air on a ladder! :)
I fink once it's all painted that I'll have to snoopervise Dad putting in a new lounge door, the new doors have windows in them and are made of oak that smells nice and is sure to make a great scratching post iffen My Mummy ever forgets to keep us well supplied with scratch mats and posts! ;) Though I have a personal preference for scratching at the carpeting... :)
Now I fink I'll go see what my sister Isis is up to, she's been all soppy since she gotted home from her date with Napoleon last night... She's been sitting in front of the mirror gazing at herself and her new diamonds! I fink she may be getting a little vain as well as rugby ball shaped! ;)

Finking Friday!
Well it's Finking Friday again and this week I've mostly been finking at Isis belly is growing like a mad thing! ;) My Mummy says I'm not to make any naughty comments about my 'sis soon not being able to see her own paws, but the temptation's there never the less! ;) I fink the cutest bit is she's started to sleep on her back at times now, but she gets up and moves when I start to clean her belly - I fink she fears I'll loose my self control and start blowing raspberries on it! :)
I've also been finking about all the fun we can have at the condo warming party next Tuesday, well that and what we can eat! ;) There's a good stash of fresh catnip and even more of the really good dried stuff... :) Well I don't fink a girlycat in Isis condition can't be using it, so rather than letting it go to waste... Yer, well I fink it's a good excuse and I'm sticking to it! :P
I fink My Mummy will be cooking some turkey terrine for us all and maybe some kitty paella too! :) So I don't fink anyone will leave here hungry! ;)
Oh and the really good thing is I don't fink it matters too much iffen kitties make a mess of the hall, stairs and landing as Dad's booked off a few days at the end of next week to stay home and decorate it! :) I fink this means I get to snoopervise, which is always lots of fun!!! :)
Now I fink it's time to start bugging My Mummy for a nice spot of lunch! ;)

Finking Friday...
Well it's been a good week for finking round here! What with making a Valentines for My Marie and hearing about the freezing cold weather they're having in Calgary at this moment - well as you might be able to guess, I'z been thinking a lot about My Marie and snuggling in warm places! ;)
My Grandpur in Calgary finally gotted his 80th Birthday present, and there'd been me finking that the postlady must have eaten it or losted it... :( But finally it arrived and he loved what we gotted him! :) He's hadded a rotten, bad, yucky, stinking cold from the deepest depths of somewhere nasty all over KissMouse and New Years, so My Mummy was very glad to hear he's starting to improve... She's been worrying herself half daft! Dad says that's easy for her to do for some reason I can't quite make out, but he always giggles when he says it so I fink he's being naughty! ;)
It's been a little cold here for the past few nights, so I finked it was better to snuggle under the blankets with My Mummy and Dad! Oh boy was I right, it was so toasty and warm there - which of course made me fink more about My Marie freezing her beautiful little paws off in Canada... For some reason when I finked about her as I slept, I'z got even warmer! By morning My Mummy said I was like a little red hot inferno - Oh yes a red hot inferno of love! ;)
The other thing I'z gotta fink about and be very thankful for is my good friends at Chat Aux Sphynx, Dragonheart and his cute little brother Merlin gave me this lovely award! :)
I'd like to take this opportunity to pass it on to the prettiest little white kitty ever created, My Marie! :) In addition to My Marie, I'd like to pass it along to that evil genius, the only cat I know with his very own Island - HRH Yao-Lin. Lastly but by no means leastly I fink I'll pass it to the only other Abyssinian I know that blogs and isn't related to me, the lovely TT! :)

Finking Friday...
Well I'z hadded a very good nights sleep last night, all snuggled up in My Mummy's arms, with my sis keeping My Mummy's toes warm too! I'z fink this is why My Mummy never has as many overs on her side of the bed as Dad... Well that and d'fact that Dad's a beastly blanket thief! ;) Do you fink that's why I'z snuggles with My Mummy all night? Cause Dad pinches all the blankets and My Mummy would get very cold without my lovely furs to help keep her warm?! ;) I'z fink I'd sleep with My Mummy anyway, cause she feels and smells just right and makes me feel very safe... :)
I'z done lots of finking this week, since we now know that Isis is fur sure pregnant and expecting in March! I'z been finking that I might miss a few nights snuggling with My Mummy while she's helping Isis settle with d'kittens... I'z not sure how I feel about this right now, but maybe iffen I'z very good and don't upset Isis I'z can sneak in for a snuggle with My Mummy anyway! :) If not I'z going to have to catch up on my snuggles when she's not helping Isis with d'kittens... ;) But kittens grow fast, so even iffen I do miss some of my nightly snuggle time it won't take long for d'kittens to grow and need less care! :) After all they'z only going to live at home with us for 3 months or so... My Mummy says iffen Isis has a purrty little girl kitten and iffen we'z all love her lots, then maybe she'll get to stay here fur ever - I'z know d'questions I'z going to ask d'kitten before I'z agree to this! Oh yes, question number one: Does you respect the fact that she's My Mummy and I'z get to sleep in her arms at night? Iffen they'z ok with that one I can put up with pretty much anything else! :)

Well I'z gotted lots to fink about this Friday for sure! Firstly I'z gotted another lovely award, this time from Black Cat - cause I'z make her day! :) That's so nice to know and I'z very honoured...

Finking Friday...
Well it's my first Finking Friday of 2008, Isis is away making ickle baby kittens and I'z just gotted out of my warm patch in d'bed between My Mummy and Dad, under the red chenille blanket with My Mummy's arm around me for security and added warmth... I'z fink I'z a pretty lucky cat on the whole! :) Though I'z missing d'sis a lot... My ears are even starting to feel like they need a clean! ;)
I'z fink My Mummy and Dad might be able to go and collect Isis sometime over the weekend, 'cause My Mummy gotted the phone call she's been waiting for from d'nice people at Silversmoke Abyssinians and they'z tolded My Mummy that 'sis has been doing all she needs to do with Dan to come home with a nice big belly full of kittens! :)
My Mummy's tolded me that she's got to do some shopping for kitty stuff later today and I'z fink she knows I's after a big comfy snuggle spot for d'sofa like she used the mattress from our luxury carrier for over KissMouse while d'rest of it was folded up and in d'loft. You'z see I'z not sure iffen I'll get to sleep with My Mummy for a few nights when d'kittens is due and just arrived so I'z need to make previsions for d'future! :) It's vitally important that I'z get a soft warm patch to sleep in iffen I can't have My Mummy every night... She's also gotted to look at some big collapsible pet crates that will do nicely for an enclosed kitten playpen - when they'z big enough for one of those My Mummy will give dem our old igloo beds for sleepin' in, though I'z hear she wants to wash of all the lovely smells and furs first! Surely dat's not natural...
Oh well I'z fink it's time I demanded a breakfast and gotted Tigmut'hep to wake d'boy up! ;)

Finking Friday...
I'z done quite a bit of finking this week and even more inspecting of the Kissmouse tree and other decorations... My Mummy has squished the tree in next to the TV so that Isis can't pull it over and so far it's worked purrfectly! :) We'z gotted our decorations and Isis isn't pullin' 'em apart or climbing them as My Mummy
first feared she would... Anyway I'z fink d'tree looks lovely and I'z keep lookin' under it to see iffen we'z gotted any purresant there yet!We'z gotted all sort

My Mummy still has d'KissMouse angel from when she was a little girly, although she's needed a bit of work her purrty face is still all original and dat's what makes it KissMouse for My Mummy I'z fink... :)Now I'z fink I'll go snuggle with my 'sis as she's stopped calling and is no longer a wanton hussy! ;)

Finking Friday...
Well as purr usual on a Friday I'z been finking hard... This time I'z been finking about where oh where My Mummy coulded of hidden our purresents! I'z mean it's very serious dis lack of 'nip scented packages... So when My Mummy haded a phone call from her sis, and was huntin' in her closet for stuff she could give her to wear (My Mummy and her sis seem to like trading clothes for some reason, even Nana and Grandnan get in on the act at times, 'cause they all like the same sort of stuff and are all pretty much the same size!) So I'z made my move and dived into the closet with my 'sis and Tigmut'hep flowing close on my heals... ;)
We'z haded a good rifle around and sniffed each and every shoe, but still nuffin... My Mummy's holdin' out on me I'z just know she's gotted something hided away from the prying paws on my 'sis! I'z fink maybe I'z can try the loft on Sunday when Dad gets the decorations down... I'z just know she can't have forgotted to send off out Santa Paws letters cause she knows that this is 'sis's very firstest Kissmouse!
Plus she remembered to make up our Kissmouse photos, heck even Mr. Grumpypuss gotted one! I'z fink it's hard to tell just from lookin' at the photo what a bossy grump he can be at times... ;) Just don't tell him I'z told you that, 'cause I'z don't really fancy havin' my brains bashed in...
Oh I'z fink I'z just herd My Mummy openin' the patio door, so I'z off to hunt around our run for my purresents! Well you'z never know where they'z hiding! :)

Finking Friday...
Well I'z fink it's been a purrty good week so far! I'z gotten d'conehead off and stopped having to have drops in my eye for a start... :) I'z gotted to see lovely ladyvet and she tolded me that "I'z look purrfect!" I'z don't care that My Mummy keeps tellin' me that she really said "your eyes look purrfect!" Nope I'z not listening... I'z know what lovely ladyvet ment! :P
I'z fink that the new patio door insert with d'cat flap in is brilliant! We'z can go in and outta the house as often as we'z feel like and play in d'cat run... My Mummy says it saves the house getting cold while we're out playin' and I fink she's right. We'z can come in side after playing thundering herd of elephants in d'run and it's lovely and warm inside and we'z can go snuggle our cold paws in one of our crochet blankets on d'sofa! :) I'z fink that's a great feelin' nice warm paws after being outside playin'... Oh and I fink it's great today as it's not raining! :) While I'z not worried about a little rain, when it rains a lot my furs go all icky and I'z feels mighty yuck... I don't fink it's right to have yuck feelin' furs! I'z fink it's time for a good gooming, 'cause just finking about yuck feelin' fur has made me feel the need for a good cleanin' ;)
Oh and lastly I'z fink that the KissMouse tree will be going up in about a week's time! I'z purrty sure Isis is going to like KissMouse time and purrhaps we'z should all start writing our KissMouse lists! :)

Finking Friday...
Mostly I'z been finking about my sore eye and conehead this week... Right now I finks my eye is getting better and so I've been pretty good about letting My mummy put the auntybiotic drops in, I'z not even put the bitey on her once! :)
Other than that I finks it's nice to snuggle with my little 'sis and watch Mummy work... Lifting one's conehead for long is hard work so now I fink it's time for another nap! ;)

Finking Friday...
Oh boy do I have some finking to do this Friday! Firstly I'z got to make sure that we'z got every thing we need in for d'party tomorrow... Lots of 'nip, lotsa meat, stinky goodness and our yummy chicken jelly with extra fresh 'nip added! :) Plenty of places to nap and relax on and of course the cat run for fun and games, likez my fave game of how'z d'squirrel! ;) I really must try and grow my tail furs more fluffy... Then I'd make the purrfect mega big squirrel! :)
Den I'z gotta fink of a good hiding spot so'z My Mummy can't find me at free O'clock when she wants to take me and 'sis to d'VET! :( I'z not told 'sis yet, cause I's didn't want her getting all upset and worried, but I'z going to get her to join me in a game of "Hide and Sneak" later when My Mummy starts lookin' fur us!
I finks it's time for my annual rejection from the VET and even though I'z hears we'z going in the big, huge, mega luxury PTU together I knows it's still goin' to be real torture... Just look at us, does we lookz like we needs a trip to the VET?! What do you mean one of my eyes looks a little bit sore and I need my booster shots... I'z purrfectly fine and it doesn't matter how much the VET likes seeing me I dozn't likes seen herz! :( I'z dozn't fink Isis needs a microchip to ID her, I'z can sniff her out where ever she hides, can't you?! What doz you mean you can't sniff her furs like that and tell it's my 'sis? You'z beans are mighty strange even if you'z My Mummy! ;)

Finking Friday! :)
Well I'z had lots to fink about this week especially about The Cats Realm challenge of taking a photo of one of your people all dressed up funny! Well since we have to get My Mummy to take all the photos round here, we couldn't very well dress her up and get a photo as well, so I'z made an executive type decision and decided to get My Mummy to photograph the boy when he's dressed up for a BBC Children In Need fund raiser next Friday! That way we'z get a funny photo, but it's for a very good cause too... :) It seems it's not only furry children here that need help, care, love and adoption... I've found it rather interesting to look into so I fink I'll try and explain it a bit for those of you who don't yet know about it all!
Each year since 1980, the BBC has set aside one night of programming on BBC One, to show events aimed at raising money for charities working with children here in the UK. The BBC coverage also extends across the BBC's other television channels and national and local radio channels.
A mascot called 'Pudsey', a teddy bear (and therefore close to Tigmut'hep's heart) with a bandage over one eye, was introduced in 1985 and has become a regular feature. Though I hear that they've redesigned the logo this year, but I have yet to see it... Children in Need is a registered charity and you get to see lots of serious TV News People and the like makes themselves look very silly, so all us cats like it lots and spend the evening watching it with My Mummy, Dad and the boy! :)
The boy does something each year to help raise money, one year it was a sponsored ice skate where he skated well over 100 laps of the rink, another year it was collection teddy bears to go to the local hospital's children's ward (this one kind of upset Tigmut'hep, he just hates to see a teddy he can't snuggle with). This year he's dressing up as one of his hero's and taking part in some fun raising events - he's going as a scientist or doctor I think as My Mummy said she couldn't make him a proper astronaut costume! ;)
